CD Project Red have been chipping away at development of their upcoming sci-fi RPG Cyberpunk 2077. It's been an ambitious project since the get-go, but the massive success of The Witcher 3 means that the pressure is on for the studio to deliver something even better next time.
In an interview with Gamespot, CD Project Red CEO Marcin Iwinski speaks about the high standard that the studio has set for itself.
Right now, we have the success of the Witcher 3; people played it and people loved it," he says. "So it's even more responsibility. The fact that Witcher 3 performed so well allows us to be even more ambitious with Cyberpunk 2077. Right now, it's on our shoulders to deliver here. The next time you hear about Cyberpunk 2077 we will show something and it must be fucking great.
"People really expect something great and that's what we have to stand up to and deliver."
Cyberpunk 2077 is still a long ways off. The studio recently revealed that they're targeting a launch window of 2017-2022 for the game.
