If you played the hell out of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, but missed the first two games in the series and were hoping that they might be among the wave of older titles being remastered for current-gen consoles, alas it seems like you're not going to see your wish come true.
When asked about the possibility of bringing the first two games in the trilogy to Xbox One and/or PS4 over on Twitter, CDPR community lead Marcin Momot commented that he liked the idea, but said that "sadly, doubt this will ever happen."
The first game is certainly very different from the more recent offerings, but newcomers wouldn't feel to out of place playing the second game, Assassins of Kings.
While it doesn't look like PlayStation 4 owners will be able to sample the delights of the middle entry in the trilogy, Xbox One fans can at least take heart in knowing that it's the 26th most voted game for back compatibility, so it may still make an appearance on the console in some capacity.
