Reports are surfacing that Nintendo might be about to release a redesigned version of the Wii console. The initial report on Nintendo World Report speculates that the Wii Mini will land in stores on December 7, confirming their source as an undisclosed retailer. The report also states that the new console will come with a "Sensor Bar, Nunchuk and Wii Remote Plus with Jacket."

It's not the first time that Nintendo has released new versions of old consoles, with both the NES and SNES receiving redesigns before the end of their respective life cycles, so there is an existing precedent for this move.

Looking forward, Nintendo's latest console, Wii U, is set to launch in the UK on November 30, with events due to take place up and down the country. There are set to be 24 titles released at the same time as the anticipated console's launch.
