Swedish indie studio That Brain are hard at work developing what looks like a unique and interesting concept - 20,000 Leagues Above the Clouds. Developers Jonathan Crafoord and Björn Albihn who met eachother while working for the now defunct Swedish dev studio Grin (closed in 2009). Since they've worked on a various games at other studios, but a while back they decided to go indie and do their own thing.
The concept of 20,000 Leagues Above the Clouds is basically that of steampowered airships travelling between floating islands. You're the captain and with your crew you trade, gather resources, perform missions, much like in Firefly an similar sci-fi offerings.
"Throughout the game you will find ports where you can dock for supplies and upgrades. Here you will meet friendly as well as shady characters presenting you with their stories. As you learn more from conversations with your newfound cohorts and competitors, you gradually gain an understanding of how this strange world is held together, and how it came to be."
Anyway, as we're quite intrigued by the concept we thought you'd like to see this very personal introduction trailer. And for once it's not one asking you to back the project on Kickstarter.
