Weak Japanese interest for Xbox One

No massive surprise really.

Xbox and Japan has had a complicated relationship and the brand has been hugely impopular. Xbox 360 did get a fairly nice start and for a couple of weeks even outsold Playstation 3, but all the problems with Red Ring of Doom and and a lack of games for Japanese flavours ended the streak and it fell back into obscurity.

And if Kotaku is to be believed, this isn't anything that's about to change this generation. They have collected a bunch of photos from outside some stores taken during last night leading up to the Xbox One launch today. And as you can see, the lines of waiting fans seems to be very reasonable.

When Wii U and Playstation 4 was launhed, there were people that had waited for days to get their console. But as you can see, that hardly seems necessary to get an Xbox One. It remains to be seen how much effort Microsoft will give the Japanese market this time, especially considering that Wii U and Playstation 4 really hasn't done that well either compared to last generation.

At least one photo with plenty of people waiting to buy an Xbox One. But this was from the Playstation 4 launch last year.
