The League of Legends World Championship (or Worlds as it's more commonly known) is kicking off on October 1 with the first matches in the competition, but we've only just found out the groups for the tournament, starting with the play-in stage. If you need reminding, this will determine the last four teams to join the final groups, and the breakdown of play-in groups are as follows:

Group A

EDG
Infinity eSports
Dire Wolves

Group B

G2 Esports
Supermassive
Ascension Gaming

Group C

Cloud9
KaBuM!
DetonatioN FocusMe

Group D

G-Rex
Gambit
Kaos Latin Gamers

As for the groups for the main event, each of these will have four teams, but since the play-in stage hasn't ended yet and we don't know the last entrants, we only have three teams in each so far, which are as follows:

Group A

Flash Wolves
Afreeca Freecs
Phong Vũ Buffalo

Group B

RNG
Gen.G
Vitality

Group C

kt Rolster
Mad Team
Team Liquid

Group D

Fnatic
100 Thieves
Invictus Gaming
