Watch the opening for FIFA 19's edition of The Journey

The Journey: Champions will be the final chapter in Alex Hunter's story in the FIFA franchise, as players will fighting for the Champions League. Last year EA Sports were actually pretty creative in some moments of The Journey, and it seems they're keeping that trend going in FIFA 19, at least considering how the mode starts.

Spoilers ahead

As revealed by YouTuber MattHDGamer, this year's Journey mode starts with a classic match starring Alex's grandfather, Jim Hunter. Over the previous games, Jim shared the story of how he got his 100th goal, and even offered the ball from the match to Alex. Now you get to play that match, right from the moment Jim scores his goal.

It seems EA really went all in to recreate the feel of a classic football match, from the kits and the muddy pitch to the TV filter, and if you want to watch it for yourself, click here.
