Bigben Interactive and Eko Software have revealed details on the endgame for hack and slash title Warhammer: Chaosbane, which is meant to be coming our way on June 4. On top of this we also have details on the free and paid content coming to players after the game releases.

With regards to the endgame, those who complete the main quest will be able to restart with a new character while keeping unlocks like money, fragments, and more. More endgame modes will also be available at this point as well, including Expedition, letting you explore randomly-generated levels; Relic Hunt, where you can get access to a dungeon with several difficulty levels and heroic gear; and Boss Rush, letting you battle bosses quickly.

After launch we can also expect regular updates, the first of which is set to add a new difficulty level and usher in some fresh gear. A permadeath mode is also on the way, as well as a new heroic set for each hero, additional difficulty levels, and increased maximum character level.

As for paid updates though - all of which are included in the Season Pass - the first DLC will bring new emotes and a passive skill that increases your chances of finding heroic items, with the second adding another passive skill letting you find God fragments more easily, on top of an alternative God skill tree for each hero.

The third brings new companions for all the characters, and the fourth is the meatiest, since it contains a new story told through a new act, totally apart from the base game's campaign. Here you'll see new environments and face off against undead foes in the form of Tomb Kings.

Those with the Magnus and Digital Deluxe Editions can start playing as of May 31, and if you want to see more on the endgame and post-launch content check out this video.

REVIEW. Written by Ben Lyons

"It lets players face the action in whichever way they choose, be it a staggeringly difficult battle through chaos beasties or just a relaxing horde slaying experience."
