Drakkar Dev and Blowfish Studios have announced that mech game War Tech Fighters will be coming to Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One on June 27, and a brand new trailer is here to celebrate the announcement and show us what to expect.

The plot revolves around rogue pilots armed with giant mechs, and there are over 30 missions to see as Captain Nathan Romanis and his crew try to liberate their people and get vengeance on their foes.

These mechs can use various weapons like lasers, bullets, and even swords, and there are over 180 upgradeable systems and parts to discover over the three body classes. The Rhino class is heavy and tank-like, for example, while the Hawk is light and agile, with the Lynx being somewhere in the middle.

This console version features the Archangel War Tech special set with Glory Sword, Redemption Halberd, and Faith shield - all available from the very beginning - and if you're not happy you can always customise with thousands of paint and livery options.

"War Tech Fighters is a heart-pounding mech action experience steeped in science fiction," said Ben Lee, CEO of Blowfish Studios. "We're proud to have partnered with Drakkar Dev to bring the game to consoles and hope everyone is looking forward to blasting off into outer space and battling armies of massive fighting robots when War Tech Fighters launches on June 27."

The game will cost £15.99 on release ($19.99 USD, €17.99, or $24.99 AUD), and those interested should take a look at the video and screenshots below.

REVIEW. Written by Andreas Blom

"For some solid mech-based combat we can just about recommend it, but go in knowing that it's fun for a few hours but not much more."
