Russian esports organisation Virtus.pro has announced that Artyom "Shockwave" Simakov is leaving its Rainbow Six: Siege roster after playing for the team since May last year. Shockwave has seen the team through varied success, even winning the European Open Clash and the Russian Major League Season 4.

Shockwave has said that he is leaving V.P as he doesn't "have the same motivation to play," and that he wants to take a break to think over his future.

"Artyom is one of the most experienced and decorated R6 players in CIS," said Sergey Glamazda, CEO of Virtus.pro in a press release. "His experience and skill set have played a crucial part in our ascending as one of the top EU teams. For now, he decided to take a break and figure out the best way to develop his career, and we respect his choice."

The organisation has said that it will be revealing further information about who will be taking Shockwave's place soon.
