Corsair is very good normally at making, I was going to say simplistic, but I don't mean that, but kind of simple designs, simple functionality lists, but then nailing small things like usability scenarios and just thinking a little bit extra about how might people be actually using a given device and then pricing it accordingly."
"So this is the HS35 V3 Wireless.
It is a simple headset for simple usage, but the functionality list is pretty broad.
So they care a great deal about mentioning their 50 millimeter neodymium drivers, which obviously we're going to have to listen to to actually get a good read on."
"But usually what Corsair does is that they tend to pick their drivers for these types of headsets very deliberately, and they're very tuned to give great performance across a whole range of different platforms, which this also supports.
As you can see here at the top of the box, this is PC, Mac, and mobile, obviously, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch."
"And that's because it obviously supports the low latency 2.4 gigahertz, I can't remember the name of the wireless protocol, but the point is that that happens through a USB type A dongle, which you can insert into anything you want.
But it also just regularly supports either jack or just Bluetooth, which is very nice."
"And it also supports multipoint through that.
So that means that you could ostensibly use a USB type A port on a PC and then be Bluetooth into your phone and then use the same headset across these different devices.
The one thing that strikes me when I'm holding it is obviously a combination of lightness and comfort."
"Now, what do I mean by that?
Now, first of all, first and foremost, this only weighs 230 grams.
Now, that is light, by the way.
I'm not going to say that it feels like not having anything in your hands, but it's really close to, and it's a lot less heavy than, say, a flagship smartphone."
"And once you wear this on your head, there's one thing that strikes me that I always harp on about in SteelSeries videos.
They have a floating headband.
Now, what that means is that if you place this correctly in the area, there are several little grooves for it to go in here so that there is the required space."
"That means that the top of your head does not come into contact with this plastic brace here.
That also means that it normally or sort of evenly distributes the pressure across the entirety of the top of your head."
"That makes a world of difference.
We see a lot of competing headsets pad the bottom of this brace here with, let's say, faux leather and a lot of memory foam, but it does not alter the fact that you are in contact with the outer hard shell here."
"This makes sure that that doesn't happen.
So if you wear this for hours upon hours, I guarantee you that it's going to be more comfortable.
It supports Dolby Atmos, runs at 20 hertz all the way up to 20 kilohertz with 32 ohms of impedance, and it promises long, long battery life, even at multipoint, particularly with Bluetooth, but also with the regular 2.4 gigahertz low latency mode on that dongle."
"It also features quite a few physical controls here, a little volume knob, which isn't a scroll wheel, but it is in kind of in steps.
So you slide your finger across and then it either increases or decreases, regular USB type C for charging, and then just a nice little on button."
"There is also an insertable microphone here, which you insert into this jack right here.
The problem with these as always is that maybe there are instances where you don't want to risk it, so you detach it.
That gives you the freedom to have a headset that does not have a microphone in it."
"I would have much more preferred that that microphone like had increased the weight of say 10 grams and then was stored inside the cup here like SteelSeries tends to do.
But still, it all depends on price and performance.
