"Hello there, welcome back to GLTV News, I'm Alex, as always going through the afternoons latest and greatest when it comes to gaming, technology, entertainment, whatever you like and indeed whatever you love, we always have it here for you at GLTV News and in the wider Gamereactor network as a whole, so if you like what you see and you want to see more be sure to check out Gamereactor wherever you get it from, for more gaming reviews, gaming previews, movie reviews, series reviews, exclusives, interviews, world news, sports news and of course so much more, without further ado today, we are speaking, sorry for the intro a bit early then, today we are talking about the Last of Us star and the Indiana Jones star, Troy Baker, who is wanting to step into the world of game development, so it's a pretty tough gig doing game development right now, you probably have around the same chance of like making it I guess as you do as an actor and Troy Baker has already done that, so why not go two for two, jokes aside though, he was speaking to Eurogamer in a recent interview and he said that he would like to transition from sort of being a part of and helping tell other people's stories to being able to tell his own stories in a very similar style to Abubakar Salim, who went on to create games after voice acting as well as acting in a more traditional capacity I guess you would say, Baker said I've had an incredible opportunity working with the best in this industry, It's Insane, Ken Labine, Hideyo Fujima, Neil Druckmann, Todd Howard, Vince Zampella, these people are paragons of the industry, I've worked with these people and I've learned so much from them, what I am excited about doing is taking those tenants, taking those printables of wildly successful titles, not just in terms of sales and figures, but the stories that have defined the industry, being able to innovate and replicate and emulate those processes and practices into the stories that I want to tell. We don't really know what stories Baker wants to tell at the minute, he does say that he wants to take his time with this process, I'll read you out another quote here and I quote, I'm going to take my time because I want to make sure that when I finally do tell a story, it's one of just as high a calibre of those that I am trying to emulate. So it doesn't seem like he's had anything besides a conversation stage with some studios at this point, quite funnily, in a quite funny manner, Abubakar Salim said don't do it, responding to a post from IGN on Twitter talking about Baker wanting to jump into game development after being an actor, Abubakar Salim has found some success with his video game endeavours but he's always faced a lot of criticism as well, mostly unwarranted for the types of games that he is creating, I would say. Baker seems to be a big fan of him anyway, he says I love Abu, I played the hell out of his games, he's someone who has a deep passion for games and has found a way to turn that into a great business endeavour for him. We'll have to see if it is a great business endeavour for Troy Baker though, I would imagine that he would lean more towards something akin to The Last of Us, quite like a very story heavy game that is going to be a traditionally quite cinematic experience as well, but we'll have to wait and see really of how Baker wants this to come about, does he want to just write his own story that is made into a video game, does he want to be on the design side, does he want to direct a game, all of it is quite different and all of it is quite tricky in its own right so we'll have to see what he can do there or whether he just slaps his name onto a story that then is brought to life by a studio that he trusts. As I say, we'll have to wait and see, what type of game would you like to see Troy Baker take hold of, do you think he's going to be releasing a game any time soon, let me know all that and more and I'll see you soon for some more TRTV news, goodbye."
