The French publisher has shared a ton of details about the series as a whole.
"Hello everyone and welcome back to another GRTV News, today we're going to be talking all things Assassin's Creed actually because late yesterday Ubisoft put out a brand update from the new sort of creative director on the franchise to talk about a bunch of different things and there were sort of six main beats, I'm going to highlight a couple of them because I don't think all of them are that interesting really, but there were sort of six main beats covering upcoming projects, rumoured projects, existing projects, across the board really, so we're going to be talking specifically today about Black Flag Recinct and probably a little bit about Shadows, but if you do want an update on the Netflix series they did say there's going to be news coming very soon, if you enjoy playing Unity that game is getting a 60fps patch today on PS5 and Xbox Series X and S, they said the codename Hegse is still in development but it's going to be a while out still so don't hold your breath on it, and they also said that they also shared some bits of information about the PvP focused Invictus, not all of that stuff was quite minor, but I feel like this news is quite big so let's hop on in, so yeah for one Ubisoft finally acknowledges the existence of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Recinct, keep your spyglass on the horizon, so we can finally start to talk about Assassin's Creed Black Flag Recinct in a manner that is shrouded in rumours and reports, in a recent brand update for the series the French publisher has finally acknowledged the existence of the game in the eyes of the public and teased that we should be seeing more of substance about it rather soon, the reference is brief but it says a lot with Ubisoft's full comments explaining speculation around Assassin's Creed is not new but it's worth repeating, nothing is true, everything is permitted, well except in this case some whispers of a little more wind in their sails, keep your spyglass on the horizon, what is also apparent is that news on Black Flag Recinct isn't immediately close as Ubisoft does go on to discuss imminent updates for the series wherein this project is not mentioned, but still this is at least some positive news for those desperate to return to the deck of the jackdaw as the legendary pirate assassin Edward Kenway, and they shared this image with it, a little bit of art for the game, so yeah the good news is basically that Black Flag Recinct is now real in the eyes of Ubisoft, so exciting of the same."
"Now at the same time as announcing this they did also share a little bit of information about Shadows, it was quite brief what they said about Shadows, it's mainly just that as the game nears its first anniversary we should expect less and less support for it, they are steadily winding it down meaning we won't be getting big patches, there will still be bug fixes and hotfixes and all those kind of patches coming out for the game, but sort of wider scale patches, they are set to be moving away from them so they can focus more of their resources on other Assassin's Creed projects, which makes sense because they have a lot of things in the pipeline, again including the Black Flag Recinct project, including Codename Hex here as we mentioned earlier, but also again Invictus, a bunch of different things."
"The one thing that surprised me about this brand update is they mentioned absolutely nothing about Codename Jade or Assassin's Creed Jade, the mobile game, now I don't know whether you're interested in it or not, that is irrelevant, this is a game that we have seen on multiple occasions, I've played it on multiple occasions over the years and yet for some reason it's still not here yet, it's had lots of different testing periods and they didn't even mention it in this as well, which makes me a little bit concerned about what the current state or the current situation is surrounding Assassin's Creed Jade and whether that game will actually make its arrival, but yeah if you want more information about Assassin's Creed as a whole make sure to go read the brand update, make sure to find all this information on your local GameRants region as well and otherwise that's all the time that I have, so thank you for joining me and I'll be back for my next and final GeoTV News of this week, so yeah stay tuned for that tomorrow and otherwise I hope you enjoy the rest of your Thursday, I'll see you all tomorrow."
