Daniel Vávra is instead going to work on the Kingdom Come movie.
"Hello there, welcome back to GLTV News, I'm Alex, as always going through the afternoons latest and greatest when it comes to gaming, technology, entertainment, whatever you like and indeed whatever you love, we always have it here for you on GLTV News and in the wider Gamereactor network as a whole, so if you like what you see and you want to see more be sure to check out Gamereactor, wherever you get it from for more gaming reviews, gaming previews, movie reviews, series reviews, exclusives, interviews, world news, sports news and of course so much more, without further ado though today we're talking Kingdom Come Deliverance, it's director of the first game, it's creative director of the second game, is leaving Warhorse in a way but is still working at Warhorse in another, basically he's leaving the RPG franchise behind to go work on the Kingdom Come movie, so Daniel Vavra is the creative director as I said working at Warhorse Studios on both the Kingdom Come Deliverance games, he is, you probably are aware of him because he's quite outspoken on things like Twitter or X I believe as you call it now, with his opinions on video games, development, the gaming industry as a whole, media as a whole and other stuff as well but it's clear that he's moving from one media to another as he's jumping over to create the Kingdom Come Deliverance movie, this comes from none other than Czech Crunch which is a Czech outlet which spoke to Martin, I'm going to butcher this name, Fridlski, Frilski, let's go with that, about Daniel Vavra's departure which basically he said Dan has a new role, this is the creation of the Kingdom Come film, we've been moving the Kingdom Come brand away from video games for some time now, so far we're in comics, concerts and tourism but we were most attracted to film, that's why Dan and I are working to get screens or a movie screen, there is also a script in the working version, they didn't want to just sell the rights as well with this, they wanted to be quite an in-house production so you'd imagine that Vavra is working pretty tirelessly on the script and making sure that it's at a point where the people at Warhorse are proud of it rather than just sell off the rights to a Hollywood studio and have them make a generic sort of medieval drama slash fantasy, because I guess you would call it a bit fantasy, it's historical fiction really isn't it, because there are fantastical elements to Henry's story because he wasn't a real person but it's always very grounded, there's no dragons or fireballs or anything like that."
"Anyway, so Vavra is effectively off the team for the upcoming Kingdom Come Deliverance game, the third game in what Warhorse is planning to be the culmination of this trilogy, but it seems that his priority is this film as I say, as Frildzky says, where did I get Frildzky from? Anyway, as Frildzky says, getting Kingdom Come on screen in the next few years is another milestone we want to achieve and that's Dan's new role, you don't meet him every day in the office but in the broader sense he's still part of Warhorse, so not a massive departure, not a big breakup or anything like that, nothing that we should be shocked about, however it is something that's very very interesting as we look to how the third game might be quite different from what we'd expect from Kingdom Come Deliverance in the past. Daniel Vavra being at the core of that leadership team and him being gone before the third game means that perhaps we'll see a new leadership takeover going in a different direction. I doubt that we go in a massively different direction from the RPGs that we know, but it's possible and perhaps even likely that we will notice Vavra's departure in the game whenever we get to play it. It's also possible that we'll notice that in other ways or we'll notice things beyond just Vavra's departure because it's going to be made in Unreal Engine whereas the first games were made in a sort of twisted version of CryEngine that Warhorse used to quite masterful effects. So yeah, bit of a blow perhaps or do you think it's something positive for the future? Are you excited to see the Kingdom Come movie? How do you think it's going to work considering the game takes like 80 hours to complete? How are they going to condense that into two? Let me know all that and more and I'll see you tomorrow for some more JRPG news. Goodbye."
