This unique keyboard is designed to be split in two, giving users more and more options with how they layout their desktop and use their peripherals.
"Hello everyone and welcome to another Gamereactor Quick Look.
It is very rare that we see brand new variations of a way that we use a particular piece of consumer electronics."
"So there might be new, in terms of keyboards that you're seeing right here, there might be new keycaps or switches, it might be made out of new materials or there's new connection methods or the battery will last longer.
But in terms of real change in the way that you use something, well that comes along rarely."
"This is the Asus ROG Falcata and I can show you pretty quickly how this alters the way that you play.
Because you just do this, yeah, that is what this does.
It is a 75% split keyboard, meaning that you now gain more freedom in terms of how you want to use it."
"Because if you think about it, the usage paradigm for keyboard is that your hands are together.
You kind of have to, particularly if you're writing or if you just want, let's say a keyboard over here.
But that might create limitations in other ways."
"So by splitting it, you now have more ways to write, more ways to control, more ways to use.
And that is exactly why it does what it does.
It is also perhaps the most luxurious keyboard that Asus has ever made."
"And you only need to pick up one of these pieces to see why.
It is dense.
I mean, it is heavy.
It feels like it was manufactured with a tolerance that is really unseen elsewhere."
"It's quite fantastic.
And the way that this cuts out and fits so smoothly together, it really is quite something.
In terms of what we have under these little keys here, we have Asus's own swappable ROG HFX V2 magnetic switches with Hall sensor effect."
"Now, the Hall sensor effect doesn't necessarily upgrade its immediacy or responsiveness, but it does mean in terms of reliability, you should experience less chance of any sort of drift or reliability issues going down the line.
It can be adjusted in 0.01 millimeter increments and has from 0 to 1 to 3.5 millimeter actuation, meaning that there is an incredibly amount of choice here in terms of what you want out of a Folkata keyboard."
"There is a rapid trigger toggle for multiple activations, which is great.
There is tri-mode wireless connection with 8K Hertz polling rates, which basically means that you can connect it to a whole host of different devices at once if that's what you want."
"There is a multifunction wheel, but it's mounted sideways right here.
Not a lot of people like that sort of thing, and it is here.
There is a four-layer dampening effect on it with detachable silicone wrist rests.
We don't have that up here, but we will have a full write-up of the Folkata very soon."
"It is expensive because it offers so much choice with this amount of fit and finish and build quality with these amount of specifications.
It's 400 euros.
That's a lot, but still, this is quite a special keyboard."
"So we'll have a full write-up very soon and see you on the next one."
