We've taken a look at the Ghost of Yotei DualSense controller, showing off its gorgeous and detailed design.
"Hello everyone and welcome to another Gamereactor Quick Look.
Well, Ghost of Yotai has now been released and a lot of people across the globe are playing it feverishly and we are celebrating that."
"We just took a look at the limited edition plates that you can buy or covers that you can buy for your PlayStation 5 if you are so inclined, which obviously has this very beautiful sort of double 3D effect going on with something being protruding from or almost layered on top of the white plastic and also engravings in there."
"So there's something that sort of is digging deep into that white plastic.
Very cool.
But you can also, if you don't want to replace your plates, buy a controller.
And this is the limited edition DualSense controller that you can buy for the PS5 or any other platform really."
"You can buy this and use it on a PC if that's what you want or an Apple TV even.
But the point is that this is built in the same style as the covers that we have right here and that is this mixture between, well, something like paint that is gold, like gold flake paint that is layered on top while there are sort of these sword cuts that are ingrained in there."
"It is dual tone and dual color as you can see.
All of these effects here, both around here with the thumb analog sticks and on the triggers behind have been made in this really sort of matte gray, almost PlayStation-like color.
But that means that the contrast to the white or the more glossy white alongside this gold paint is much more apparent."
"It isn't as layered on top as it is on the cover, but it does seemingly have a little bit of texture to it, which is very nice.
And that is, as I said, in stark contrast as well to these deep cuts that have been made into the actual plastic."
"Obviously, you can see a figure here of Atsu swinging her sword or whatever weapon she chooses to carry at the time.
And it is insinuated that she is making these cuts in her quest for revenge, which is the main plot of the game."
"Now, obviously, this is cool.
I do think that it's a little bit subdued personally.
I, for instance, the controversial Concord brought out its own DualSense controller, which just took things a little bit further."
"It went further from the matte white grayish color palette and gave us some bold new colors.
Now, obviously, they just wanted to go a little bit more anonymous with this one.
The gold flake paint is very nice, and it's even doubled in the face buttons and the D-pad as well, which is a nice touch."
"But overall, I would have loved to see more bold colorway, particularly because Ghost of Yotai, actually, like Ghost of Tsushima before it, has a very bold color palette, brighter colors like red or yellow that are much more deep and saturated than this gold flake here."
"So, they could have done more, but obviously, if you want to champion your love for this particular game, it is very well done, and you cannot call it half-assed in any way.
So, maybe this is on sale right now.
These tend to be limited quality or quantity, so please just feel free to take a look and also read our Ghost of Yotai review on our site."
