"Hello everyone and welcome to another Gamereact Quick Look.
I have spent several videos basically waxing poetic over Nomadic, which for complicated reasons is called GoMatic here in Scandinavia."
"But it is initially an American company and they named their bags Nomadic.
And to me, they kickstarted a wave of renewed focus and attention on everyday carry, a market which has since boomed and become its own thing where people, particularly tech enthusiasts I feel, are working hard and diligently to optimize how they carry expensive and also really important different things to and from locations that they travel to or to or from work, depending on what the situation is."
"And this is the ultimate pinnacle of what that is.
This is the everyday backpack and it is the 14 liter version, which I specifically asked Nomadic for because I wanted to prove how much you can get within a pretty tight little frame here without sacrificing comfort or space."
"I mean, this is really thin.
We've tested some backpacks on the show which are much like bulgier than this and which could carry a whole lot less.
But this is like sort of born out of a different way of thinking, which is that you, if you're an everyday carry enthusiast, you know what you want to carry."
"You don't need a big bulky space where you put all of the weird items that you pick up over the course of the day.
You carry the same things every day and you want them to have dedicated spaces inside this frame."
"So that is basically the idea in which Nomadic has worked, the particular direction that they've taken their stuff.
And it works very well.
So first and foremost, before we get into the pockets, this is a tarpaulin outer shell for complete waterproofness."
"There's RFID pockets inside.
These zippers here are YKK zippers.
There is magnetic water bottle pockets on both sides, which again, if you don't store anything in them, they will just keep tightly to the outer shell, which is very, very nice."
"There is memory foam, thick memory foam padding on the straps and this little cross strap here, which helps you basically distribute the weight evenly if you're carrying something which is very heavy.
Now this is not particularly heavy for me."
"This is the 14 liter frame.
So it looks like even without stuff in it, that it's going to be very heavy, that I can assure you that that is not the case.
But again, the coolest things are all of these attentions to detail."
"So there is a little cross carrying strap here, which I really like.
This is really thick.
So I often carry it from chair to chair, room to room.
In this handle as well, there's a little room in here where I usually carry AirPods, which is very nice."
"And then there are two main compartments here.
The first one is for small knickknacks.
So you open it like this.
I have my passport here."
"I have my wallet here.
I have my keys here.
I usually have a spare car key in here, which I'm currently using, so I don't have it here.
But there is even more room down here for different things."
"And remember what I said, this is made for purposely carrying specific things in specific pockets.
So over time, you would always remember that this is where your key is.
Whereas other everyday carry backs just has, well, they kind of make a big deal out of having one big central room where you would just put, I don't know, spare sweaters and headsets and whatnot."
"But this is again, more purposeful.
And I really, really dig that.
So in the main compartment, you have, again, this sort of like lift out design, meaning that if you sip it all the way down, you can either sip it a little bit and just open this flap up to take out your laptop, or as I did, sip it all the way down and you have this."
"And it will in most cases actually stand.
So charging brick there, cables here for extra charging, a mouse that I keep here.
I have a little Anker GaN charger here, which I charge my laptop with.
It's only 100 watts, but it's actually been proving to be quite nice indeed."
"And then laptop here, barely takes it, but still 16-inch MacBook Pro, which fits well.
And then I have a, we just filmed something for dbrand on their Touchgrass series, and I usually keep my iPad here.
That is a lot of kit in a really small bag."
"And I still do have a little extra space here.
But that is, of course, without revealing the bag's party piece, which is that there is this zipper here, which expands this room quite a lot.
So if you sip it all the way around, it will expand, as you can see here, I can demonstrate that right here."
"It expands from 14 liters to 21 liters, and it does so quite effortlessly.
Will that make the big difference?
That is really hard to say, but it is definitely a feature that they didn't have to add.
But meaning that if you have to, you know, take off your sweater and this is the way to carry it, you can expand it like this way to make sure that there is enough sort of bulk space for those items."
"But still, what I love about it is that I can find those little dedicated pockets for little dedicated things that improves my workflow and what I basically carry to and from work and to other places where I might need to do serious things like work.
So the Nomadic Backpack, everyday backpack, is not cheap."
"It's definitely one of the more expensive bags out there for this sort of thing, but it is also like unmistakingly, categorically the king of this space and definitely the best bag I've ever tested.
So that's it."
