This MagSafe-enabled wallet and standis designed to be very hard to lose thanks to its tracking elements.
"Hello everyone and welcome to another Gamereactor Quick Look.
We've had a lot of Journey kit here on the show, mostly they're charging accessories, so that would be MagSafe-enabled TRIO chargers, which charges your watch or phone, a pair of AirPods, etc, etc."
"And they're all great.
They basically really know their stuff, and from power banks to chargers, it's a great deal.
We even had the little Lock8 key holder on the show, where I also found it to be a rather nice little accessory if you are looking to upgrade and keep track of your most valuable items that you carry around with you every day."
"Which leads us to this.
It is an addition to the Lock8 series, the Lock8 Passport Holder.
And already, there's a couple of really good bits here.
First and foremost, it is made in water-resistant materials alongside a vegan leather front right here, so it feels very nice."
"We come to an immediate problem here, which is that there are no magnets in the outer rim of it, so when you close it, it doesn't really stay in one place.
Furthermore, it actually just flops about.
So I would have liked a tighter bend."
"The reason there isn't a tighter bend on here is because there is a pen holder in here.
So you might want to keep a pen in here for various reasons, but because it's designed to hold a pen, it doesn't close as neatly flat as I would personally have liked.
And that's one of my main gripes with the product in general."
"But still, awesome materials.
The vegan leather also continues in here, where you get a lot of card holders, actually, alongside, obviously, the general sort of passport holder.
You can have that both ways right there."
"One cool thing right here is a really small pogo pin array, which means that there is a battery in here, and which means that that battery can be recharged.
There is no CR battery in here, which you need to basically sort of switch out like you would with a pair of AirTags."
"No, you can just recharge this.
It will last for months and months and months on the battery.
So why does it need a battery?
Well, like the Lock8 key holder, there is Apple Find My compatibility in here, which means that when you first put your valuable cards and your passport in here, if you have to go somewhere, you can pair this using the Apple Find My network, and it will essentially work like a massive AirTag."
"That means that if you lose it, and let's face it, if you're on a journey, journey, and you have all of your cards in here alongside your passport, this is a pretty important object to the quality of your journey, to where you're going, where you will be staying, and also just your ability to get back home again."
"So having Find My compatibility in a passport holder, you know, it's kind of the same if you have a passport or you just snap an AirTag in here, but look at it this way.
If a person steals this from you or finds it, there is no way to remove the AirTag compatibility, the functionality from it."
"But with an AirTag, you could basically just remove it, put it somewhere else.
You would look through it because you've stolen it.
So this being built into the actual product, and for a lot of thieves, I suspect, they won't know that this is actually being tracked by you on your phone."
"So I would guess that this is a lot more secure than just plopping an AirTag in a random little holder where you would have your passport and your cards, for instance, because again, that can be removed.
There is also, if you just lose it in your home, there is actually a built-in speaker here."
"So when you get close, it's the same with using the UW chip in iPhones and AirTags, where it emits a sound as you get close, and this will do the same thing.
And I think that's really cool.
So €109 is a lot for essentially what is a holder for a passport."
"But again, going back to it, if you have bank cards, let's say bills in the local currency where you're going, and your passport, this is incredibly valuable.
So investing in something which can help you find it again is probably worth €100, I would say."
"But I'll let that be up to you.
Thank you so much for watching.
See you on the next one."
