We check out this brand new gaming mouse from NZXT, which fits into its Lift line and offers advanced and improved performance over its models.
"Hello everyone and welcome to another Gamereactor Quick Look.
NZXT has launched a wide variety of new accessory products recently and we thought we would take a look."
"Starting with this, which is the Lyft Elite Wireless.
Now what you see is basically what you get in some regards at the very least.
This is a sort of pro-grade, lightweight, slimmed down, competitive, esports-y mouse in the sense that almost all of the focus was centered on weight shedding, on a compact frame, which also helps with weight reduction overall, and then a high DPI sensor, a high IPS tracking, and some really cool rapid optical switches."
"And you have all of that here.
So one cool thing that I think the Lyft Elite Wireless does is that you can see that this shell here is one piece.
It basically means that there is no honeycombing going on at the top to reduce the rigidity of this chassis in order to achieve a higher grade of weight shedding."
"What they have done is basically created holes at the bottom and then sort of hollowed out that overall shell.
So it is kind of honeycombing in the sense that you're breaking the whole shell in order to save weight, but it's a cool way of going about it where it feels whole, where you're actually holding your hand."
"There are some really cool stats to leer off here as well.
57 grams is a very, very lightweight mouse, one of the lightest of weights.
It also has a really cool PWA 3395 optical sensor, which produces 26,000 DPI.
Now that's not like a 50K Hero sensor from Logitech, but it's pretty darn good."
"And alongside 650 IPS tracking, that is really nice, as well as this will do up to 8K polling, which is something that we're not seeing as often and really nice to see.
It also do regular 4K polling.
But again, 8,000 Hertz polling rates are something that we are seeing on the market, but they're definitely not common."
"It also has 70 hours of battery life, which is not too bad either.
The switches here are optical, those are rapid 2.0 millisecond response times.
So really quick, really clicky, really tactile as well.
The one thing that you are probably seeing when you're looking at this in my big man hands is that it is small."
"So it is so small that I would have to resort to a really tight claw grip here in order for it to feel comfortable.
Some people prefer a claw grip and want smaller mice, even for bigger hands.
My hands are very big."
"So my fingers are almost like one joint longer than the actual mouse buttons.
So that would mean that I would have to hold really far back, which would then drag because even if this has PTFE feet, which it does, and it glides pretty flawlessly, my hand would be dragging behind it, which would reduce my speed."
"So I would suggest that you hold this in your hand before buying it, simply because that it is small.
And because of this small-ish shape as well, I don't really personally think it's fit for my hands, but I'll let you be the judge."
"The one major problem I have is that I think that when there are mice on the market which achieves low weights and high e-sports-y specs without sacrificing a place to store your dongle, which as far as I can tell, this does not have.
I tried sort of jamming it in here in the back or putting it up inside here, but I really can't see where I'm supposed to..."
"Do you know what I'm saying?
So the point is, there should be a really nice place to store this, and I can't find it.
And beyond that, I can't find on the box or anywhere else that this has Bluetooth, which I also think that it should have."
"So I'm going to have to fully explore this in a written review, and I hope to God I haven't made a mistake, but I do think that it's a shame when these kinds of mice give up basic functionality even at higher price points to get to this weight-shedding stupidity.
Because for a majority of people, they just want all of the functionality that they're used to, and they're not ready to give that up."
"So saving that or basically eliminating that to save more weight seems foolish to me.
So for much more on the Lyft Elite Wireless, stay tuned to Game Rancher.
Bye."
