Indiana Jones, Avowed, Senua's Saga: Hellblade II, and more will all be featured.
"Hello everyone and welcome back to another episode of GRTV News, today we're going to be talking about something that was announced yesterday, which there was a lot of stuff announced yesterday so it's kind of difficult to pick and choose the most exciting of the bunch, but I think because of the repercussions that this could have later down the year, this is the most exciting of the bunch and it's in relation to Xbox, they've confirmed following a whole slew of rumours as of late, they've confirmed that the first developer director of the year will be hosted by Xbox and it will be hosted next week, and on top of that, aside from just announcing that it exists, they've also confirmed what's going to be there, now there's some things that were kind of, you know, things that we knew were going to be showing up, Hellblade, Towerborne, those kind of games, but the other one that was confirmed to appear at the show is a big game and one that no doubt most people are very excited for, so let's dive on in and take a look."
"Xbox confirms 2024's first developer direct show for next week, we'll finally get gameplay from the Indiana Jones game and see more of Avowed, Senua's Saga, Hellblade 2, Arah History Untold and maybe a fifth secret game.
Last January's developer direct ended up being quite successful for Xbox by revealing more about Forza Motorsport, Minecraft Legends, Redfall and The Elder Scrolls Online, while announcing and launching Hi-Fi Rush, it was no surprise when rumours about another one happening this month seriously started spreading a couple of weeks ago, Microsoft has decided to follow tradition by confirming this days after the rumours reached the boiling point."
"2024's first Xbox developer direct will start at 8pm BST, 9pm CET on the 18th of January and we're told to expect new gameplay trailers for MachineGames' Indiana Jones game, Senua's Saga, Hellblade 2, Avowed and Arah History Untold in the show.
After that, The Elder Scrolls Online will have its own stream to reveal what's happening in 2024, so yeah, if you're looking for more Elder Scrolls stuff, it will be present as well."
"There was rumours about Towerborne making it as well, so if these four games are definitely confirmed to be appearing and most likely won't be getting their sort of shadow launch or shadow drop, maybe it's Towerborne that's going to be the one that gets the shadow drop this year."
"That's all highly speculative of course, there's no confirmation about these things, but it does seem likely that Towerborne is going to be making this cut as well because it's been sort of perceived as one of the first Xbox games, or Xbox first party games, to be making its debut in 2024 for quite some time, so the fact that this developer direct is coming and there's no mention of Towerborne to me, leaves more questions than it does answers."
"Yes, there's every chance that it could be coming later in the year, but to me it kind of sets this game up as potentially being one that we're going to be seeing a lot of and very soon.
Otherwise, maybe it's time we finally get a release date for Hellblade 2."
"This developer direct could say that the game's coming, maybe sort of May time, something like that.
We've seen a lot of Hellblade 2s of late, so we're pretty confident that it's going to be coming sooner rather than later."
"So maybe yeah, maybe this will be the time when we get to finally know when Hellblade 2 is going to be debuting, with The Vow shown up again, maybe we'll get a release window for that as well, sometime later in 2024.
In our history, I'm told, I'd be surprised if that wasn't sort of the next big game to make it from the Xbox Game Studios sort of crew, after what I'm assuming will be Avowed making its early arrival."
"As for Indiana Jones, a big game of this proportions, I know obviously Xbox are going to have stuff lined up for later in 2024, but I wouldn't be surprised if Indiana Jones is also aiming for that sort of later period as well, but again, we'll know soon.
We're eight days out from this developer direct, so if you want to learn more about these games and these exciting, promising titles, be sure to tune in to that."
