Could we be in store for a new Dishonored, Prey, or Deathloop?
"Hello everyone and welcome back to another episode of GRTV news. Today we're going to be talking about something which we'll likely know more about in sort of 18 hours or so from when I'm recording this. Because a rumour has gone around that suggests that at the Game Awards, which basically if you live in the UK or Europe, kicks off just after midnight, that at the Game Awards, Arkane Studios will be making an announcement. They'll be revealing a new title at that show. And when we say new title, I'm not talking like a brand new franchise like they did with, or not specifically a brand new franchise like they did with Red Fool or Deathloop, but just a new title. So it could be a new franchise or it could be a sequel. So without being a case, let's dive on in and see what this rumour looks like."
"For Arkane Studios to announce a new title at the Game Awards, it seems like Dishonoured, Deathloop or Prey might get a sequel. There's no denying that Red Fool did put a dent in the reputation of Arkane Studios, but it's still only one poor game in an otherwise both interesting and impressive track record that has lasted for over two decades. What Arkane Studios next title will be is currently unknown as they have nothing announced, although it seems like we might get an answer real soon, like this week. According to the notorious and fairly accurate leaker, NateTheHate, the developer will unveil a new title during the Game Awards on Friday. As Arkane has two studios, one in Leon and one in Austin, we assume the next game is being developed by Arkane Leon. As Arkane Austin made Red Fool, which launched earlier this year, Leon is considered to be the main and best studio and has previously developed Dishonoured 2 and Deathloop. NateTheHate says he doesn't know which game it is, so it could be related to some of their previous franchises like Dishonoured, Deathloop or Prey or perhaps even something completely new. We would argue that Dishonoured 3 is our best bet as this was leaked by Microsoft earlier this fall. Let's speculate away what do you think this is about? Now, first things first, it does seem like a logical place for Arkane to make an announcement at the Game Awards because Arkane is a multiple Game Award winner over the years. You know, Deathloop won a variety of awards when it was released in 2021. So yeah, it's not like, this studio has a lot of connections with this award ceremony. So it's not at all surprised that this is going to be the case, especially with it being Arkane Leon as well that we're expecting this announcement to be. As for the game, again, you know, we haven't had a proper new Arkane game announcement, should we say, in a while. Like, yes, Red Fool did launch early this year, but we haven't actually, we don't actually know about what Arkane's working on next in an official sense. Like, yes, there are rumours. Yes, there are leaks that suggest Dishonored 3 is in the cards and on its way, but nothing official has been announced by the studio itself. That being said, when Dishonored 3 is mentioned in a bunch of Microsoft details during the process of Microsoft looking to acquire Activision Blizzard, which has long passed at this point, when you see mention of Arkane Studios or Arkane Leon working on Dishonored 3, it probably means that Arkane Leon are working on a Dishonored 3. So if we're going to put our money on anything being announced at the Game Awards, it's probably going to be that Dishonored 3 is on its way and then it's coming, yeah, a couple of years, something like that. But as we know more, well, we'll know more in a couple of days, so stay tuned for the Game Awards to learn more about this and hopefully to be able to sprinkle a bit of official information on this rumour. But yeah, that's all the time we have on today's episode of GLRTV News. We'll be back now tomorrow for the next one of the week, which will be our last one post, oh, pre the Game Awards."
"Very exciting. But yes, thank you for watching. I hope you enjoy the rest of your Wednesday and we'll see you all on the next one. Take care, everyone."
