GRTV News - Blizzard has revealed the next three World of Warcraft expansions

The first arrives next year.

"Hello everyone and welcome back to another episode of GRTV News. It's a new week and over this past weekend has been BlizzCon 2023. Now this has been the first real like return to form for BlizzCon if you will, since the pandemic. We've had a few different BlizzCon online I believe but they've been kind of, they felt a little bit sort of flat and a bit basic. But this one, a massive in-person event, everyone's been flocking to California to attend this and see what's next for the the famed video game company. And well Blizzard had a lot to share. They shared a bunch of information about what the future of Overwatch 2 will look like and showed off the new hero. They revealed that the Diablo 4 first expansion will be coming in late 2024 and will be called Vessel of Hatred. And as we're going to be talking about today they revealed basically what the next sort of, I don't know, maybe six, seven years of World of Warcraft is going to be looking like. So yeah, let's dive in and take a look at that. Blizzard has revealed the next three World of Warcraft expansions. The first titled The War Within will launch in 2024."

"Blizzard has revealed not one, not two, but three expansions for World of Warcraft at BlizzCon 2023.
All three of these expansions are connected and will be contained within a larger story called World of Warcraft, the World Soul Saga. The first expansion is titled The War Within and it's planned to launch at an unscheduled date in 2024. The other two expansions contained in the World Soul Saga are called Midnight and The Last Titan. During the showcase World of Warcraft creative director Chris Metzen described the expansion as the culmination of the first 20 years of our storytelling. An official description of The War Within reads, prepare to descend beneath the surface of Azeroth to explore subterranean worlds full of hidden wonders, earn the trust of the new earthen allied race and face an ancient evil lurking in the darkness. You can take a look at the trailer for The War Within below. And yeah in this War Within trailer this is where we see as people have been calling it the sort of glowed up version of Anduin and yeah it looks very different to the one that we've come become familiar with over the years. But yes the first one The War Within will launch next year, sometime, we don't know when exactly but it will be coming next year and then after that we have Midnight and The Last Titan. Now there's no date on when either of those two will land but it should be said that usually Blizzard doesn't do expansions on an annual basis for World of Warcraft. They're usually a couple of years out. Dragonflight came out a couple of years ago so you know on that sort of time period if we're looking at say a minimum of sort of two years in between then we're looking at Midnight sort of debuting sometime in 2026 and The Last Titan in 2028. Maybe they'll be cranked out faster maybe they'll be later but if you sort of look at like anywhere between five and seven years for this saga of World of Warcraft to come out it's a good amount to be looking forward to that's the one thing to say though."

"But yeah as we know more about these different expansions we're sure to get you posted and updated.
There's a lot to unpack and Blizzard are going to want to talk about these expansions for the foreseeable future so expect a lot more information coming out perhaps maybe sort of 2024 onwards as they sort of gear up for this major release.
