"Hello everyone and welcome to a brand new Gamereactor Gamescom Impressions video in which today we're going to talk about a game that really grabbed my attention, as always, but it's true."

"I'm talking about Pacific Drive, okay, which is basically like a kind of run-based driving survival adventure, which is being developed by Irongood Studios and published by Kepler Interactive and which is supposed to be released on 2024 on PC but also on PlayStation 5 and I think that's it, as long as I know, and well, yes, okay, Rebecca, this is a run-based driving survival adventure but what's special about it? Well, let me tell you. The main plot of the game, okay, the basic plot is that, well, we'll have to survive in the anomaly-filled Olympic Exclusion Zone, okay, just with our car and all the resources that we can gather, okay, so obviously we'll have to scavenge resources from, I don't know, abandoned sites, just load up as much as we can, we'll have to upgrade our car to just, well, get farther or go faster or just load more resources etc and, of course, we'll have to drive and, well, adventure ourselves in dangerous places to just get to unravel this mystery behind this exclusion zone, because I don't know what happened in this place, I don't know what happened in the world basically and, well, I'm not going to spoil that to you, of course, and basically we're going to experience and watch in life, of course, different and dangerous situations that, as I've said, we'll have to unravel and that we'll have to survive if we can keep going unraveling the mystery, but the most important thing is just to survive, explore, gather resources, of course, survive and go back to your main station to just, well, as I've said, upgrade, keep going, etc. The good thing about the game, I don't know if you've played A Long Drive, I think it was called like that, but it's like a similar gameplay, okay? Obviously, I think in A Long Drive the events were even more random than in this game, but also we'll have to survive and we'll experience these random events and every time that we get out of our station and anything can happen, okay? We don't know what's going to happen, we don't know what kind of dangers can we find and, of course, we'll have to survive, for example, to, I don't know, dangerous and mysterious silhouettes in the dark, which, well, maybe you don't want to deal with them because you don't know what are they going to do. Obviously, you'll have to survive to different weather events that are not the usual weather events that you can find, of course, and obviously avoid the radiation zones or maybe upgrade your car and your equipment to just get into those radiation zones, etc. Obviously, repair your car because you'll probably have to repair it several times, etc."

"And in general, it's that kind of loop every time, okay? As I've said, the main goal or the main objective of the, well, the steps that you're going to repeat over and over and over again is just drive, try to gather resources, try to survive to every event or danger that can happen to you, go back to your station and, well, get ready for the next run or the next drive, okay? And, of course, try to investigate the entire area and try to unravel this mystery, but it's all about you."

"It's you just have to find your own rhythm, you just have to, well, decide what to do next, okay?
If you want to just gather resources because you have to repair your car because it's just screwed it up, okay? Maybe this time if you have enough resources or you've upgraded already your car or whatever, you have fuel, you're all ready, maybe now the next time that you're going to drive out you're going to just explore and try to, well, explore different sites, explore different areas and, of course, try to investigate a little bit more about what happened in here or maybe you just want to adventure yourself into the danger and just try to, I don't know, crash everything that you're seeing and, well, realizing what can happen to you if you do that, I don't know."

"I really like this experience and this concept of the game because, as I've said, it reminded me a little bit of The Long Drive which is all focused on surviving and on, well, discovering how far can you go, but this time I liked this version even more because we have a background story, we have a huge mystery behind all this environment and all this universe, it's all, of course, about surviving and gathering resources because this is the main thing that you're going to do, but also you'll have a map, you have several different sites to just go, you have a lot of mysteries and a lot of weird events that are going to make you want to explore and all that and, I don't know, I really liked it and all the environment it's like super dark, super creepy, you don't know what's happening, you don't know if you actually want to go outside or not, but the main purpose of the game of course is just to go outside, but it's like, the environment is really, really, really well built."

"It was so cool to just go there not knowing where and just trying to survive, explore and, I don't know, getting scared about all the things that are happening, you're going to see weird lights and you're going to approach them just like a fly and, well, maybe you'll die or maybe you won't, but, well, you'll have to try if you want to discover it, no?
And that's the funnier part of the game, of course, just enjoying the drive, enjoying the experience, trying to survive, of course, but just, well, going there and exploring and just getting lost and trying to discover more things and trying to unravel these mysteries and, I don't know, just enjoying the drive and I loved it and I loved the point of having a background story behind and I love the point, of course, because I didn't want to compare this game that much with A Long Drive, but just for you to know, if you've played that game, it's more or less the same kind of gameplay in terms of, well, you can change the doors, you can, I don't know, change the engine, you can change almost everything, you'll have to pay attention to all the lights and all the signs in your car to just, well, getting to know what kind of warnings or what kind of dangers can your car be suffering, I don't know, and as you have to pay a lot of attention and you have to kind of manage your resources, well, all the maintenance of your car, etc, it's like so cool because you have to pay attention to that, you have a lot of things to do, as I've said, you have to gather resources, you have to survive, you have to pay attention to your car, you have to take care of everything, you have to survive again, okay, but you have to pay attention to a lot of details and a lot of things but at the same time you're going to feel like you're actually living the experience and that you're actually lost in there and that you actually have to survive and I love that, as I've said, I really had fun playing it, you have to get used at the beginning to all the controls, to all the things that you have to pay attention to, etc, and as I've said, and of course, you'll have to upgrade your car and upgrade every part and, well, create more like stations, no, or craft stations at your main garage or however you want to call it, to just, well, keep upgrading things, crafting more resources, crafting a better equipment, etc, to access to more dangerous and different parts of the map and unravel the mystery and it's all about that but, as I've said, as you have a lot of things to do and so many different things, I think you're going to love it if you like this kind of survival adventures and if you just like driving or if you just like to get lost in a weird and random place and not knowing what's going to happen but just go there and enjoy the experience, etc, you're going to love it. As I've said, in terms of visuals, environment, universe, etc, I was so impressed because it's really well built, all the graphics are super cool, I think they have a unique essence that I loved with this kind of realistic sci-fi theme that I really, really liked. The music really accompanies this weird, mysterious, dark environment and the gameplay is just awesome too, as I've said. Pay attention to a lot of things but, at the same time, just chill, just, well, create your own story however you want to and whenever you want to because you can, every time that you go out and that you start to drive with your car, you don't know what's going to happen or you can prepare yourself to just do one specific thing and then another so you can create your own adventure as you want to or you can create it, well, depending on the events that are going to, well, that are going to, I don't know how can I say it, the events are going to manage your own creation, your own history and probably they're going to guide your adventure sometimes because they're going to force you to just repair your car again or they're going to avoid you to explore one part or another but that's one of the funniest parts, just not knowing what's going to happen and, well, adapt to the environment and to the adventure and just try to go with the flow and then try to create your own story and, I don't know, I really liked it. If you liked, as I said, these kind of games or a long drive or these kind of survival games where you don't know what's going to happen but you have to keep going and advance however you can and try to survive and at some point you want to solve a mystery or knowing the end of a story, this can be your game, really, and if you like this kind of dark, mysterious, science fiction environments, you're going to love it and I highly encourage you to just explore and do whatever you want to and see what happens because there are going to be a lot of weird events that you're not going to expand and I'm sure that you're going to laugh and that you're going to have fun once you realize what happens if, well, if you crash something or someone or some weird things, I don't know, it's going to be funny so you just sorry, just do whatever you want to, just explore, just enjoy the drive and do what you would do in real life and see what happens because that's the funny part of this."

"So there you go, I really hope that you enjoyed my impressions and my, well, description of the game, more or less, as I've said. It was a little bit encrypted because I don't want to spoil anything but, as I've said, it's all about living your own experience, creating your own story and, well, just creating your own path, your own drive, no? And that's it. And that's why I just encourage you to try it out, to add it to your wish list and to play it whenever it's released, okay? So give it a try, you're not going to regret it and, of course, enjoy the adventure and the drive. I remind you that we've been talking about Pacific Drive, okay? A game developed by Ironwood Studios and published by Kepler Interactive which will be released next year on 2024 on PC but also on PlayStation 5 or just on those platforms as far as we know, okay? So there you go. I hope you've enjoyed my impressions, my description and this tiny video and see you in the next one. Bye-bye! you"
