Update 3.0 landed yesterday on Nintendo Switch and brought with it a number of improvements to the hybrid console. As it turns out, Nintendo has dropped a handy new feature as part of the update, in the form of compatibility with the wired Pokkén Tournament controller.
During the announcement of the new Pokkén Tournament DX Nintendo said that the fighting game will come with a new controller layout from the Tekken team, but they didn't tell us that this functionality was only just around the corner. As Serebii.net points out, when connecting the much cheaper Pokken Tournament controller via USB, the system will recognise it as a Pro Controller. The only problem is the different button layout, as it's not fully compatible with all games.
Something similar happens when using a Gamecube controller. As you can see in this video, the console recognises the licensed MyFlash USB adapter, although like the Pokkén control some functionality doesn't carry over. In addition, although the adapter has four connectors, it only supports one player and if you add more controllers, all of them operate the same character.
