Ubisoft recently hosted an event in London that showed off the Discovery Tour by Assassin's Creed: Ancient Egypt, giving us a historical insight into the world of Assassin's Creed Origins, and during our time there we spoke with both Maxime Durand and Jean Guesdon from the studio about what the mode is and where the inspiration came from.

"We wanted both to please the players that would learn about Ancient Egypt, but also for students who wanted a structure that teachers could use in a classroom, so let's say have a less-than-20-minutes tour that [you could] use in a history of geography class that lasts for about an hour normally in high-school," Durand explained. "So these are the kinds of tips that we use to integrate, to make this Discovery Tour accessible for schools, while not making it unaccessible for other players. The level of language is pretty much accessible for everyone, the controls are the same as the main game but they are very easy because we remove some of the conflict buttons that you would have normally on the controller."

For more on how Discovery Tour was developed, check out the full interview below, and there's also some extended gameplay to show you the new mode in action below that as well. Also, stay tuned, as there's a preview article coming tomorrow with our thoughts on what we played, and how it all works.

Do you think this could prove useful in schools?
