Two Tribes calls it quits after Rive releases in September

Dutch studio wants to go out with a bang.

Dutch indie outfit Two Tribes have announced that Rive will be their last game and that while the studio will remain and their games will be updated, there will be no new projects after Rive releases on PC, PS4, Wii U and Xbox One this September.

The announcement was made on the developer's blog:

"This is it! After more than 15 years of hard work and gallons of blood, sweat and tears, we have decided that RIVE will be Two Tribes' final game. This may come as a surprise for you, but we've actually been thinking about it for some time now."

There is a long explanation of some of the reasoning that has gone into this, as you may know Two Tribes downsized a lot following Toki Tori 2, but the summary goes like this:

"Long story short (grandfathers like to digress!): when running a company, you need to be on top of your game, not just in terms of the product you're making, but business-wise too. And we just aren't on top of the games business anymore."

At any rate, Rive does look amazing and a fitting way to go out if that's how it has to be. Check out the latest trailer below:
