Twitch axes its Hype Chat feature after five months
The decision was based on "community feedback."
HQ
Twitch has announced that it will be axing its controversial Hype Chat feature just five months after it was rolled out to users.
From 15th November, users will no longer be able to use the feature which allows paying viewers to have their messages pinned to the top of a streamer's chat.
Within an FAQ on its website, Twitch notes that the feature has been removed due to "community feedback." The FAQ also notes that Twitch will be investing more into Cheering and Bits and this will be discussed in its monthly Patch Notes stream on 15th November.
