The Total War series is once again travelling to the Far East, this time to explore the history of Ancient China. Creative Assembly will return in the spring of next year (and not in late 2018 as was previously announced) with a story of terrible conflict between warlords as was written by Luo Guanzhong in the 14th-century historical epic, the Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

We're waiting for the first gameplay to appear but in the meantime, Sega has sent over a new trailer which focuses on general Cao Cao, who will "no doubt be the leader of choice for players who enjoy a 'divide and conquer' approach" to empire management. Check it out below.

"Plunging headlong into Chinese politics and intrigue will easily entertain would-be emperors for days on end."
