ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove! released earlier in the year, providing players with a throwback to the '90s, and HumaNature Studios has now announced a livestream coming May 26 that will discuss a range of topics regarding the game, allowing fan call-ins too.
The four hour stream - aptly named the "Super Funky Telethon" - will give HumaNature Studios the chance to discuss what's coming for the game, including a four-player co-op mode, an endless mode, and what's next for the franchise.
In typical '90s fashion, the stream has been turned into a live call-in event, allowing fans to call a hotline and speak to the creators of the game along with some celebrities. These include Macaulay Culkin (Executive Producer of Back in the Groove!), Freddie Prinze Jr., Super streamer Sonja Reid (aka OMGItsFirefoxx), and Genieve Goings (host of Disney's Choo Choo Soul).
These hosts will have to endure a number of bizarre experiments and stunts, and prizes are on offer for those calling in and participating in the event. The set will take place across three areas - the Game Zone featuring a '90s living room, a "funkometer" that tracks event progress, and giant screens to play games - and the stream will go live across Mixer, YouTube, and Twitch on May 26, from 12:00 to 16:00 PST (20:00 BST start, or 21:00 CEST).
"Big news like Toejam & Earl's multiplayer and endless mode updates deserve equally big ways to announce," said Greg Johnson, founder of Humanature Studios. "So with help from our Executive Producer Macaulay Culkin, we thought hey, why not with a 4-hour live show full of celebs, games, and surprises?"
