Today marks the arrival of a brand new patch for Battlefield V, as detailed on Reddit, and with regards to downtime, each platform should have only been down for about an hour this morning.
DICE explains that this update has targeted a few specific areas, including fixing the APCR Specialisation for the Boys AT, which previously wasn't working properly when used against Tanks. Another fix applies to the Tromboncino's progress, which was inadvertently linked with the Commando Carbine, meaning those who had already progressed to a certain level with the Carbine were unable to set or reset specialisations.
Firestorm fans will be pleased to hear that there are three fixes coming their way too, as those who quit while downed will now drop their loot rather than exiting the server with them. Platform 9 and 3/4 in the Firestorm Hanger will also be tweaked so that players can exploit geometry to reach the map earlier. Parachute draw distance has been improved on the drop as well, so you can see how many people are dropping with you.
One thing that hasn't arrived with this update, however, is a fix for the stuttering issue. "Our Engineers believe that they're making good progress on the problem. We'll have more updates about this the instant that we can provide them. For now we just wanted to ensure that you understood that we view this as a High Priority for us to fix, but will not be addressed as a part of Update #5," the post reads.
For the full patch notes head this way, and bear in mind a brand new Mediterranean map has just been revealed for the game too.
Are you pleased to see these areas being addressed?
