Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts today announced that the Titanfall 2 Open Mulitplayer Technical Test will be available across two weekends in August on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, starting on Friday August 19 (there won't be a test/beta on PC, though, head here to find out why).
Fans will be given the chance to test the gameplay while also helping Respawn examine what does and doesn't work prior to its global October 28 release. If that isn't enough news for fans to get excited about then Gamereactor has something coming later which may be of interest as well.
In terms of game modes there will be two available there will be Bounty Hunt, a five versus five mode where bonuses are earned by killing grunts and enemies, as well as Pilots vs. Pilots, an eight versus eight mode which pits pilots against each other in classic combat. Boomtown and Homestead have also been announced as the two maps.
During the second weekend, though, the Amped Hardpoint mode will be added, a variation of the normal Hardpoint mode where now hardpoints can be 'amped' for double points, and a new map by the name of Forward Base Kodai as well.
Two new titans Ion and Scorch will be available to players in these tests as well as abilities and weapons. Networks feature in the test should also allow players to find and play with friends easier.
