Developers are always iterating on different concepts, animations and appearances for the characters that star in their games, with plenty of trial and error before they arrive at the final design that then appears in the game.
One example of character development that has probably generated more excitement than most is the case of Uncharted leading man, Nathan Drake.
The Verge has been able to shed some light on early designs for this iconic character after they got hold of the original pitch video for Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, where we see a more cheery Nathan Drake inspired by Jackass star Johnny Knoxville.
Undoubtedly Naughty Dog has been vindicated by their decision to make their leading man a little edgier than their original design. The fourth game in the series - A Thief's End - stars a very chiseled Nathan Drake, and is heading to PS4 on March 18.
