The Simpsons producers address rumours that Homer has stopped strangling Bart

When Homer Simpson mentioned that he doesn't strangle Bart anymore in a recent episode of The Simpsons, many took that as the animated series moving on from the strangulation gag. Fans even went back and looked at the last time Homer strangled Bart and found that it was multiple seasons ago, assuming that the gag had actually been retired years ago. However, this is being called into question, following a response from the show's producers.

Taking to X, The Simpsons account has posted an image that shows Homer strangling Bart while saying "Why you little clickbaiting...!!", all while the actual comment on the post states, "Homer Simpson was unavailable for comment as he was busy strangling Bart."

This has led many to wonder whether the gag has been retired or not, and if we'll perhaps see it sometime in a future episode of the long-running series.
