Update: Gamereactor reached out for a comment on the release date, and a Microsoft spokesperson told us: "We don't have anything to share about release timing for The Outer Worlds at this time."

The Outer Worlds had a lot of people excited when it was first revealed, as developer Obsidian Entertainment has a pedigree when it comes to RPGs of this sort. We haven't had a release date as of yet, but one has just appeared on Steam before being swiftly removed, as reported by PC Gamer.

The release date was only briefly visible, but thanks to SteamDB you can see that it was listed as August 6, with more details like language support also being revealed. Now it's back to the vague 2019 window, and while we don't have any official confirmation from Obsidian just yet, this leaked date has got fans excited.

We're slowly getting more and more details on The Outer Worlds as time goes by, as this month we found out that loading screens will change depending on your actions and that we'll be getting a physical release too.

Is The Outer Worlds one of your most anticipated games this year? If it is then you might want to check out our preview.
