Intrigued by the claims of longer battery life for your Switch? Are you maybe a bit sceptical of these claims? The newly released 'new Switch' has been put to the test recently by the people at Tom's Guide and they seem happy with the results. The test consisted of them running an endless, 8-player CPU battle in the popular fighting game Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on both systems. All of the items were put in the match, AI difficulty was turned up, auto-sleep and auto-brightness were both turned down and the brightness was turned up all the way.

After depleting the batteries of both systems, they found that the new Switch lasted for about 4 hours and 50 minutes while the original Switch died after 2 hours and 45 minutes, making the new Switch the winner by almost double the original Switch's battery life.

So if you've been wanting the details before upgrading, the proof is in the above pudding.
