Original: These days digital downloads represent a large portion of the revenue game developers and publishers take in on an annual basis. And so it is with great interest that we take a look at the yearly sales charts provided by Sony detailing unit sales on the PlayStation Store.

It's no surprise to find Call of Duty: WWII at the top of the US toplist as it has dominated retail sales in 2017, but there are one or two major surprises to be found. The fact that Friday the 13th: The Game has sold well enough to place above Horizon: Zero Dawn in third spot certainly surprised us. And we're constantly reminded not to be surprised of the legs that GTAV consistently shows. The decision to release the Zombies Chronicles add-on for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 also proved a smart move by Activision this year. Job Simulator took the honours of most downloaded PSVR game in 2017.
