One of the games that Sony showed off during its E3 press conference was Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, a new standalone expansion set in Naughty Dog's action-adventure series. After watching the new story trailer on stage, we got to talk to lead game designer James Cooper about what players can expect.

Of course, the big focus will be on the "exciting" relationship between Chloe (the main playable character) and Nadine ("who we didn't really like we gave enough screen time to" in Uncharted 4), and their adventures together.

"As we started writing the story," Cooper explained, "we realised it was much bigger than we were going to be able to do justice to in a smaller package, and so we decided to really commit to that and build upon everything we'd been working on in the story."

We later asked directly how much content we can expect from The Lost Legacy, and Cooper told us that "we're still trying to work that out right now. We've been running focus tests in the studio, and the value has been fluctuating a little bit. We know that it's going to be comparable to some of the earlier Uncharted games."

This follows a report earlier this year that said the expansion could last for more than 10 hours.

The Lost Legacy is launching in the US on August 22, and in Europe on August 23. Check out the full interview below, along with an extended gameplay trailer that was released post-E3.
