This year's remake of the 1994 animated classic 'The Lion King' blew people away with its photorealistic animation, nostalgic value and heart-warming narrative. Now, approximately a month after release the movie is officially the highest-grossing animated film of all time, surpassing previous reigning champion Frozen.

The worldwide gross for Jon Favreau's retelling of the classic story sits at a steady $1.33 billion, which isn't exactly pocket change.
