Riot Games has outlined the plans for the revamping of the League of Legends European Championship. As stated on its website, the LEC will be expanding and now including Türki̇ye, CIS and MENA, and will be getting new pathways for players to be able to hunt for a spot in the premier league.

To this end, the LEC will now feature more matches and more opportunities, with the year split into three six-week long splits going forward, with those being: Winter, Spring, and Summer, all before the LEC Season Finals at the end. Each split will see ten teams competing in best-of-one round-robin tournament, followed by an eight-team best-of-three double-elimination group, all before a four-team, double-elimination best-of-five playoffs. The champions of the Winter, Spring, and Summer Splits will all secure spots in the LEC Season Finals.
