The Last of Us: Part II was released back in June, and you can read our review of the game right here if you want to know why we liked it so much. It's a commonly shared opinion and it most certainly explains the game's commercial success, which has been highlighted once again.

This time the sales figures come via the NPD Group, which monitors the sales of video games in the US. According to its records, The Last of Us: Part II is now in third place, just behind God of War and Spider-Man, in terms of the money made from Sony's first-party games.

So far, The Last of Us: Part II is also the third best-selling game of 2020 in general in the US, right behind Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

In other news, Sucker Punch's Ghost of Tsushima was the best-selling game in July in the US, and the game is the developer's fastest-selling ever (no surprises there).
