The fact that The Last of Us: Part II was featured on this evening's State of Play stream didn't come as a surprise, we had heard of it from Naughty Dog and its high-profile team prior to the stream going live.
It was, however, surprising to learn its release date was to come as soon as February 21 of next year. In the brand-new trailer, we get to see Ellie speaking about the controversial (although it shouldn't have been) kiss from an earlier trailer. We also get to see her traverse on horseback alongside her ladyfriend, see menacing clickers and other enemies all residing within the walls of the games' absolutely stunning (and equally haunting) environments and an upsetting sequence in which a loved one is killed. At the end of the trailer, a familiar face even made an appearance and you can check the trailer out below.
