People looking for serious golf games with all the bells and whistles haven't had much luck since EA decided to retire its golf series after the PGA brand was damaged by the antics of Tiger Woods. They tried one more time with Rory McIlroy PGA Tour three years ago, but since then it's been all quiet on the PGA front.
Nature abhors a vacuum, however, and for fans of the sport, there's a series called The Golf Club which has been slowly and steadily growing in quality. Now, for the first time, TGC has the PGA Tour license and basically everything any golf enthusiast could ask for. It's being published by 2K Sports, and we assume that sooner or later it will change the name to The Golf Club 2K, but not this year. We know this for a fact as The Golf Club 2019 has just been released.
The golf sim is available for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One - although only digitally at the time of writing. A physical version is planned as well but is coming sometime later this year, and you can read more about the game in our recent interview with developer HB Studios.
