The 2023 Overwatch League season is now over. After a turbulent year that has seen many asking what the future will hold for the league, this past weekend has seen the best teams from around the world coming together and competing for the lion's share of the $1.85 million prize pool and for the right to be dubbed champion.
After a busy couple of days, this honour has gone to the Florida Mayhem, who after defeating the Houston Outlaws in the Grand Finals, has been crowned champion for the 2023 season, and potentially as that of the last OWL champion if the league doesn't return next year.
As for where the rest of the teams placed, the Hangzhou Spark came in third, the Boston Uprising netted fourth, the London Spitfire and the 2022 champions Dallas Fuel came in fifth and sixth, and the highly seeded Atlanta Reign and the East division's Seoul Infernal rounded out the placements in seventh and eighth.
Now that the season is over, we're waiting on firm word from Blizzard about what the 2024 season will offer, if it does end up making a return.
