Three years after the Spring Split finals for the European League of Legends Championship Series were held in Madrid, the competition is returning to the Spanish capital once more for the Summer Split finals from September 8 to 9, as we've just found out from Riot today.
The Palacio de Vistalegre will host the last matches of the Split, where a European champion will be crowned, and Jose Klingenberg, head of production of EU Esports at Riot Games, said that Spain and the Spanish Superliga Orange are testaments of what is possible at a local level, praising Spanish organisations and fans.
The EU LCS Summer Split Finals has got total support from the regional Government of Comunidad de Madrid, so it should be a good way to follow the Spring finals in Copenhagen's Royal Arena, which happened earlier this year.
