The Escapists universe expands with The Survivalists

It's similar to Team17's prison-breaking game in its visual style, except you need to survive rather than escape your detention facility.

The Escapists is all about coming up with new and inventive ideas to escape prison, and now we know of a new game in the universe, called The Survivalists, which you can see in the brand new trailer below.

The Survivalists is a little like The Escapists, in the sense that you'll need to use your creativity to explore, craft, and gather resources, except the objective here is to survive, all in the same top-down perspective and with the same visual style.

There are a number of biomes to explore, things to hunt (don't get hunted yourself though), and trainable monkeys can even help with your ventures. Treasure hunting in temples is also of vital importance too, giving you valuable resources.

You can play alone or in co-op with four players, and we can expect it on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One next year.
