The Division's latest expansion, which goes by the name of Underground, has been released as part of the 1.3 patch to the online RPG.

Among the features of the patch listed on the website there's four new Gear Sets and a brand new weapon for players to get to grips with, as well as a variety of other additions.

The bulk of the patch is the Underground expansion which sees players go into the tunnels underneath New York, tunnels which are procedurally generated and have custom rulesets through Directives.

As with the main game's initial release there are also issues with Underground's release as well. Some were reporting that the game was not recognising season passes, although that has apparently been resolved, and there are still reports of Delta errors and extended queues, both of which are under investigation

Among the other changes to existing parts of the game there's overhauls to weapons in order to make shotguns and LMGs appeal to more players.

"We're still early in 2016, but we've already made room for The Division in our game of the year list."
