Ubisoft has just announced a new update for its open-world racer The Crew 2, and it goes by the name of Demolition Derby and will be available on December 5 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

The Demolition Derby update introduces a new mode in which competitors will have to earn a place on the podium by obtaining the best score in a limited period of time, with two new arenas created to host this destructive way of playing the game.

The first one is the Bonneville Salt Flat, where players will earn points by destroying their opponents' cars and at the same time trying to avoid being damaged by an elevator, a spring boxing glove, or other cars. The second new circuit was built in the heart of Tucson's aerial cemetery, where players can throw their opponents off the road to trigger even more destruction.

In addition to Demolition Derby, the update introduces a new PvP mode.

Up to eight friends can challenge each other across several disciplines, including the likes of Street Racing and Motocross, with a constantly updated selection of events throughout the US. Players will also be able to join PvP leagues to get even more rewards.

The update will also include four new demolition derby cars and for the first very time in The Crew 2, these cars will be completely destructible in both this mode and free play.

The update will also include additional content, including exclusive Drift, Alpha Grand Prix and Rally Cross challenges, and newest vehicles available to all players are the Audi RS3 LMS - 2017 and the Aeroboat - VS12 - 2018.

REVIEW. Written by Magnus Groth-Andersen

"We never found ourselves wanting for variety. On the contrary, it's an open world arcade racer that offers plenty of things to do."
