Supercell's Clash Royale has proven itself to be one of the leading mobile esports in the last few years, especially considering the game has had its own Crown Championship World Finals, but it seems this was only the start, as the game's official website has revealed plans for a Clash Royale League.
"After the wonderful response to last year's Crown Championship World Finals, we knew that it was only the beginning of something big," Supercell wrote. "We have a huge opportunity to expand and build on the competitive scene, so we've been busy working on the next evolution of Clash Royale esports... and we're excited to share the beginnings of that now!"
The League is a professional team-based affair in which anyone can compete, with in-game competition starting on March 14 with the Clash Royale League Challenge. Here all players over 16 years of age and Level 8 who get to 20 wins will then be eligible to be drafted by a pro team, but that's not all, as we'll be getting even more details soon.
Do you think this is the right time for Clash Royale to get a league like this?
