It was shaping up to be an incredibly long offseason for the Call of Duty League, with the 2022 season wrapping up in early August and then the 2023 season looking like it would kick off in the New Year, but fortunately, this won't be the case, as Activision has revealed the start date for the 2023 season, and it is much earlier than expected.

The next season will start on December 2, and will include a tournament with two weeks on online qualifiers before looking to host a LAN Major I on December 15.

This will then take us into the more mainline format for the year, including Majors II-V and the postseason, which while we do lack exact dates for all of these tournaments just yet (and also lack an actual schedule showing when teams will be facing each other), we do know the teams that will be hosting each Major.

For Major II, the Boston Breach will be getting the host duties, whereas Major III will fall to OpTic Texas, and Major IV to the New York Subliners. The details on Major V and the Championship Weekend are currently still under wraps.

We're also told that further news, including format details, exact dates, and more will all be coming over the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for that.

Sledgehammer Games' latest instalment into the long-running shooter series offers up some great improvements, but still feels a bit safe at its core.
