The Binding of Isaac is an indie roguelike designed by Edmund McMillen and Florian Himsl. It was originally released in 2011 and has since been ported to pretty much every platform you can think of. The story is inspired by the biblical story of Isaac (this time with added poop). Now it's time for Isaac to invade some new ground.

The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls is an upcoming multiplayer card game, and it's about "sacrifice, betrayal and hoarding". The Kickstarter campaign gathered $2,650,692 from 38,333 backers, so the campaign can be considered as a monumental success.

The goal of the game is quite simple: "2-4 players take turns playing loot cards and using items to kill monsters that yield more items, loot, and sometimes souls. The first player to end their turn with 4 souls is the winner. Cooperation, barter, and betrayal is encouraged."

This is not the first time a video game has been turned into a tabletop game. Other games have been for example Doom, Gears of War, The Witcher and Dark Souls (in fact, we just wrote an article on this very subject).

REVIEW. Written by Mike Holmes

"Forget the brilliantly disturbing art and the pulsating combat, it's the sheer variety in terms of items and weapons that steals the show."
